BMU Grid Resiliency Project Informational Meeting

Dear Bancroft Electric Utility Customers,

Following our initial meeting in August, we are pleased to invite you to our second public informational meeting regarding the ongoing Electric Grid Resiliency project.

As previously shared, Bancroft Municipal Utility (BMU) was awarded the Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grant via the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Since our first gathering, our project team—consisting of BMU, NIACOG, and DGR Engineering—has been moving forward with the planning and design phases required to modernize our local infrastructure.

  • Design Milestones: A look at the specific engineering plans developed since August.
  • Timeline Update: Updated schedules for construction and equipment installation.
  • Resiliency Goals: A deeper dive into how these specific upgrades will reduce outage frequency and improve public safety during severe weather.
  • Community Q&A: An open forum to address any new questions or concerns as we move toward implementation.
