History
The first Commercial Club in Bancroft was started in 1917. A Chamber of Commerce was organized in 1946 with Charles Quinn as president. It was a very active group for many years. Mrs. Lorraine Schemmel became the first woman president of the group in 1978 and was reelected to a second term.
