*The outdoor restrooms attached to the Swimming Pool are connected to the building's water system. Due to this fact, when the Swimming Pool is winterized and water shut off, the outdoor restrooms will also be shut off and unavailable for public use.
A Brief History & Fresh Look for the City Pool
The journey to building the city swimming pool wasn't entirely smooth sailing. Following a contested city election, three local opponents took the project to court, challenging several votes. However, the court ultimately ruled the election legal, and construction finally launched in 1957.
Over the decades, the facility has evolved from its original 1957 design. While it still features a regulation-size pool, the old kiddie wading pool has been replaced with a modern, accessible zero-entry area. The surrounding park just west of the pool has also grown into a beautiful community hub, featuring lush trees, a city playground funded by a generous donation from the Gast Estate, and a picnic shelter erected by the Lions Club in 1979, and renovated in 2026, that remains free to rent.
Exciting 2025 & 2026 Upgrades! Thanks to the incredible support of our community partners and city staff, we have wrapped up extensive rounds of renovations to ensure a fantastic summer:

Pool Enhancements: The entire pool has been sandblasted and repainted for a fresh, clean look. We’ve installed a brand-new water heater to keep the temperature just right, and state-of-the-art chlorination and filtration systems for crystal-clear water. Plus, new for 2026, the slide has been fully renovated and painted a vibrant new blue!

Bath-House Renovations: The bath-house received a major facelift with new soffit and gable siding to spruce up the building, alongside brand-new doors for improved appearance and accessibility.
A HUGE thank you goes out to Pleva Mechanical Inc and Carrico Aquatic Resources for their fantastic work on the pool renovations, and to Ryan Hoehn & Phil Lampe for their excellent craftsmanship on the bath-house.
We also want to give a special shout-out to our city Parks worker, Tony Laubenthal, whose hard work and dedication have been absolutely instrumental in bringing these recent updates to life!
The pool is typically open from Memorial Day until Labor Day. We can't wait for you to see all the improvements—stay tuned for opening day announcements and get ready for a fantastic summer!
